Prime Grade European Oak
The Prime Grade specification provides a refined and relatively clean appearance while retaining the authentic character of natural European Oak.
According to the supplied product data sheet, sound knots are not generally permitted, although occasional pin knots up to 10mm may occur. Filled knots, filled defects and sapwood are not permitted. Natural colour variation and a mixture of natural grain patterns are allowed, giving the finished floor a sophisticated appearance while preserving the individuality of genuine timber.
Classic Five-Finger Mosaic Design
The distinctive five-finger mosaic pattern creates a repeating geometric design that is both traditional and versatile. The small oak blocks are arranged into square panels, producing a detailed parquet effect with subtle changes in grain direction across each section.
This makes the flooring particularly suitable for creating a feature floor in hallways, living rooms, bedrooms, commercial interiors and restoration projects. The classic mosaic format can complement both period properties and contemporary interiors.
Mesh-Backed Panels for Efficient Installation
Each 480 × 480mm panel is pre-assembled onto a nylon mesh backing, helping to keep the individual mosaic pieces correctly positioned during installation.
The panel format makes installation more efficient than laying individual mosaic blocks one by one, while allowing the distinctive five-finger pattern to be reproduced accurately across larger areas.
The recommended fitting method is glue down / fully bonded installation, following the manufacturer’s installation guidelines.
Unfinished for a Bespoke Finish
The panels are supplied unfinished, giving you complete control over the final appearance of the floor.
Once installed, the oak can be sanded and prepared before applying your preferred finish. Depending on the desired result, the flooring can be stained, oiled or lacquered, allowing the natural grain and colour of the European Oak to be enhanced to suit the surrounding interior.
Natural Oak Character
European Oak is valued for its attractive grain structure, durability and natural variation. With the mosaic format, the direction of the grain changes between individual blocks, creating additional depth and movement across the finished surface.
Natural colour variation is permitted, meaning individual blocks may display subtle differences in tone. These variations are an inherent characteristic of genuine solid timber and contribute to the authentic appearance of the completed floor.
Solid 8mm Construction
The flooring is manufactured from solid European Oak with a total thickness of 8mm. The individual blocks are precision prepared and assembled into panels, providing a practical way of achieving a detailed solid oak mosaic floor.
The product data sheet specifies an average density of approximately 710 kg/m³, E1 formaldehyde emissions and a thermal conductivity of approximately 0.13 W/m K. The flooring is manufactured to EN 14342.
Suitable for Restoration & Contemporary Interiors
The timeless mosaic design makes these panels an excellent choice for renovation and restoration projects, particularly where a traditional parquet appearance is required. At the same time, the clean geometry and natural oak tones make the flooring suitable for modern interiors.
The product is listed as Mosaic Parquet Flooring and Solid Wood Flooring, with applications including bedrooms, hallways, living rooms and commercial spaces.
Installation & Maintenance
The recommended installation method is glued / fully bonded. The manufacturer recommends maintaining site conditions at approximately 45–65% relative humidity and 15–25°C room temperature before and during installation.
For everyday care, regular sweeping or vacuuming is recommended to remove grit and dust. Entrance mats can help reduce the amount of dirt brought onto the floor, while excessive moisture and soaking should be avoided.
Maintenance products should be selected according to the final oil or lacquer finish applied to the oak.
