Premium Prime/Natural Teak
Indonesian Teak is renowned for its distinctive grain, warm natural tones and luxurious appearance. The Prime/Natural grading balances a relatively clean presentation with the authentic characteristics expected from natural timber.
The product data sheet allows occasional sound knots of up to approximately 10mm and occasional filled knots up to approximately 5mm. Filled defects are not permitted, while minimal edge and core sapwood may occur. Natural colour variation and a mixture of natural grain patterns are also permitted, ensuring each installation has its own individual character.
Classic Herringbone Pattern
The traditional herringbone design gives these teak blocks a sophisticated geometric appearance. The 70mm-wide, 230mm-long blocks create a balanced parquet pattern that can complement both traditional and contemporary interiors.
The rich natural appearance of teak makes this flooring particularly effective where you want the herringbone pattern to be a feature in its own right, while the natural grain adds depth and visual movement across the finished floor. Lumber Jack lists the product specifically as Herringbone, Solid Wood Flooring.
Solid 20mm Teak Construction
With a substantial 20mm solid wood construction, these blocks provide the authentic feel and character associated with traditional solid parquet flooring. The tongue-and-groove construction on all four sides is designed to provide a secure connection between blocks during installation.
The manufacturer’s recommended installation method is glued/stuck down, with the fully bonded method recommended.
Unfinished for a Bespoke Finish
The blocks are supplied unfinished, giving you the freedom to choose an appropriate finishing system after installation. A suitable oil or lacquer can be used to protect the timber while enhancing its natural grain and colour.
An unfinished surface also allows the final appearance to be tailored to the project, whether you want to preserve the natural character of the teak or create a deeper, richer appearance.
Natural Variation & Character
One of the defining features of Indonesian Teak is its natural variation. Each block can display differences in grain direction, tone and texture, meaning the finished floor will have an authentic, naturally varied appearance rather than looking artificially uniform.
These variations are an inherent feature of real timber and contribute to the distinctive character of a teak herringbone floor.
Installation & Maintenance
The flooring should be installed using the glued/stuck-down method in accordance with the manufacturer’s installation guidelines. Appropriate site conditions should be maintained before and during installation.
For ongoing care, regular sweeping or vacuuming is recommended to remove grit and dust. Suitable neutral wood-floor cleaning products should be used, and the floor should not be saturated with water. Maintenance requirements will depend on the oil or lacquer finish selected.
A Distinctive Alternative to Oak
For customers looking beyond traditional oak, Indonesian Teak Prime/Natural Herringbone Blocks offer a luxurious alternative with a naturally warm appearance and distinctive grain. The combination of solid teak construction, Prime/Natural grading, traditional herringbone styling and an unfinished surface makes this flooring particularly well suited to high-quality residential and commercial interiors.
Indonesian Teak Prime/Natural Herringbone Blocks are an excellent choice for creating a sophisticated, characterful and timeless parquet floor where the natural beauty of the timber is intended to take centre stage.
