European Mahogany Prime Mesh-Backed Mosaic Panels
Bring warmth, depth and distinctive character to your interior with European Mahogany Prime Mesh-Backed Mosaic Panels. Crafted from solid European Mahogany, these beautifully detailed mosaic panels combine a traditional parquet aesthetic with a practical pre-assembled format, making them an excellent choice for both period restoration and contemporary interiors.
Featuring a classic five-finger mosaic design, the flooring is made from individual solid mahogany blocks arranged into geometric square panels. Each block measures approximately 120mm × 24mm × 8mm, with the finished panels measuring 480mm × 480mm. The blocks are precision assembled onto a nylon mesh backing, helping create a consistent pattern while simplifying installation.

Premium European Mahogany
The Prime Grade specification provides a refined appearance while retaining the natural beauty of genuine mahogany. The grading permits occasional pin knots up to approximately 10mm, while larger sound knots, filled knots and filled defects are not permitted.
Sapwood is also not permitted according to the product data sheet, helping maintain the rich and consistent appearance associated with a premium mahogany floor.
Natural colour variation is allowed, together with a mixture of natural grain patterns. These subtle variations ensure that the finished floor retains the authentic character of real timber rather than appearing artificially uniform.
Classic Five-Finger Mosaic Design
The distinctive five-finger mosaic pattern gives this flooring its unique visual identity. Small solid mahogany blocks are arranged into repeating geometric panels, creating a detailed parquet effect across the floor.
The design has strong mid-century heritage and was particularly popular during the 1960s, making it an excellent option for period properties, retro-inspired interiors and restoration projects. At the same time, its geometric appearance works equally well as a statement floor in modern residential and commercial spaces.
Mesh-Backed Panels for Easier Installation
Unlike loose individual parquet blocks, the mosaic pieces are supplied as pre-assembled 480mm × 480mm panels fixed to nylon mesh. This helps maintain the intended pattern during installation and makes it easier to cover larger areas accurately and efficiently.
The panels are designed for glue-down installation, with the manufacturer recommending the fully bonded method. This provides a secure installation while allowing the individual mosaic pieces to form a continuous decorative floor.
Unfinished for a Bespoke Finish
The panels are supplied unfinished, giving you complete flexibility over the final appearance of the floor.
After installation, the surface can be prepared and finished to suit the project, whether you prefer to enhance the natural mahogany colour with a suitable oil or create a more protective lacquered finish. The manufacturer’s product information specifically describes the flooring as suitable for the traditional glue down → sand → fill → finish installation process.
Rich Natural Mahogany Character
Mahogany is valued for its naturally rich tones and distinctive grain. Its warm brown and reddish-brown colouring can add depth and sophistication to an interior, while the small-scale mosaic construction creates additional movement across the floor.
The combination of natural colour variation and mixed grain direction means that every completed installation has its own individual character.
Suitable for Restoration & Statement Interiors
The traditional mosaic format makes these panels particularly well suited to restoration and renovation projects, especially where an authentic parquet appearance is required. They can also be used to create a striking feature floor in hallways, living rooms, bedrooms and commercial interiors.
The product is listed by Lumber Jack Wood Flooring within both its Parquet Flooring and Solid Wood Flooring collections.
Technical Performance
The product data sheet specifies an average density of approximately 710 kg/m³, E1 formaldehyde emissions, and a thermal conductivity of approximately 0.13 W/m K for the 8mm construction.
The flooring is manufactured to EN 14342. Production tolerances include approximately ±0.005mm for width and length, with a total thickness tolerance of +0.200 / -0.005mm as stated on the supplied product data sheet.
When installed with an appropriate subfloor, the product data sheet also indicates that the flooring can be suitable for use with water-based and some electric underfloor heating systems, subject to the specified installation requirements and temperature controls.
Installation & Maintenance
The recommended installation method is glued / fully bonded. Installation should be carried out in accordance with the manufacturer’s guidelines, with appropriate site conditions maintained at approximately 45–65% relative humidity and 15–25°C room temperature.
For everyday maintenance, regular sweeping or vacuuming is recommended to remove grit and dust. Entrance mats should be used where appropriate, and care should be taken to prevent excessive moisture from reaching the floor.
For oiled floors, suitable wood-floor wash and maintenance oil can be used. For lacquered finishes, appropriate cleaner and refresher products should be selected according to the finish applied.
